| The summer holidays are well underway and July and August sees an abundance of cultural, adventurous and family-friendly events occurring across the North West and beyond. From the colourful On The Waterfront festival in Liverpool to an epic sandcastle competition in Llandudno, there's plenty to explore! Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table and features a bevy (or possibly a brace) of beautiful show girls, witch burnings (cancelled - too expensive) not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people. The show features the hilarious songs He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights Of The Round Table, Find Your Grail and, of course, the favourite Always Look On The Bright Side of Life.

Sandcastle Competition in Llandudno! |
The wonderful Imperial Hotel in Llandudno is organising a fabulous Sandcastle Competition on Thursday 19 August! The competition will be held on North Shore beach and will start with the official "dig" at 1pm, giving participants three hours to complete their artistic creation for the judging at 4pm. All proceeds from the event go to Ty Gobaith children's hospice in Conwy and St David's Hospice in Llandudno, so get it in your diary!

| Picasso: Peace and Freedom |
Picasso: Peace and Freedom is a major exhibition that brings together over 150 works by Picasso from across the world at Tate Liverpool. The exhibition reveals a fascinating new insight into the artist's life as a tireless political activist and campaigner for peace, and is on until 30 August 2010. Admission is £10 (£8 concessions).

| Events in the city with Liverpool ONE |
This summer, Liverpool is hosting a selection of seriously good events. There's the annual SUMMER POPS featuring the likes of Jools Holland (16 July) and Rod Stewart (21 July). Then there's ON THE WATERFRONT, which sees the waterfront transformed with dazzling aerial and water-based performances, world-renowned international dance groups, sensational silly street theatre, historic vessels, maritime manoeuvres and pirate battles, dancing with the Jiving Lindy Hoppers, arts market and much, much more... and if that wasn't enough, from Thursday 22nd July, Chavasse Park next to Liverpool ONE will be transformed into PARADISE IN THE PARK, complete with golden sand, clear blue sea, beach volleyball and musical entertainment with a tropical twist...

| The CLA Game Fair at Ragley Hall |
The CLA Game Fair at Ragley Hall, the world's biggest country sports and outdoor pursuits event, takes place from 23-25 July 2010 in Alcester, Warwickshire. There are major show areas and features which include exhibitions, demonstrations, displays, debates, championships, competitions, tuition and many 'Have a Go' opportunities - from shooting, fishing and falconry to gamekeeping and estate management!
